Obama's Agenda - Don't Be Caught Off Guard

Obama is a cosponser of Senate Bill S.1173. This bill would eliminate the laws that help women make an informed decision. The laws that would be reversed would be all the:

• laws in 44 states that preserve a parental role when children under 18 seek abortions;
• laws in 40 states that restrict late-term abortions;
• laws in 46 states that protect the right of conscience for individual health care providers;
• laws in 27 states that protect the right of conscience for institutions;
• laws in 38 states that ban partial birth abortions;
• laws in 33 states that require counseling before having an abortion;
• and laws in 16 states that provide for ultrasounds before an abortion.

Obama has promised that this would be the first thing he would do in office. Do we want a president who doesn't care about the well-being of women. He has stated that if his daughters made a poor decisions as kids it would be find for them to have an abortion without him knowing. Obama doesn't value life and liberty for all. One of his next acts will be to make sure that we are paying for abortions for those who cannot afford them. Thus funding Planned Parenthood which places their clinics in poor and minority neighborhoods, overcharges our government, and doesn't report minors receiving an abortion who have been raped by an adult. They actively allow minors to get an abortion concerned only about their money and not their well being.

Change We Do Not Need

by MCE

Barack Hussein Obama has wowed our nation with his personality, convinced people with his charisma, and promised “change.” I want change too, but Obama’s change is not the change we need. Let’s take a closer look at what life would be like with Obama as president. One the of the biggest things he has promised is pulling our troops out of Iraq and he has said he will do this by 2009. Maybe the Iraq war was a mistake, but pulling our troops out now would be an even bigger mistake. Over the past few months, Iraq has been more peaceful and the government is meeting goals required of the U.S. Progress is being made in Iraq but don’t expect Obama to share our successes with you. To pull out our troops now would cut off all the support we are providing in keeping peace and helping the Iraqi government establish themselves against those who use terrorism to get their way. While we are talking about the military, lets not forget that he has absolutely no military experience and we have no idea how he will lead our military as we battle terrorism on an international scale. Expect even worse military decisions than Bush.

ECONOMY
The economy is on all of our minds as it is in the news each day. We have had a Democrat controlled Congress for two years which has done little for our economy. While we were paying a lot of money for gas this summer, they took a two week vacation instead of voting on a bill to allow for more drilling of domestic oil. Recently the government took control of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac after its collapse due to sub-prime loans. If you look more closely, Obama and other politicians are to blame, at least partially. Obama and many other politicians received contributions from Fannie-Mae in order to keep Congress from passing laws that would hurt them. Obama received the third highest amount of contributions in 2006 at $105,849. This sounds like the “old politics” which he eschews. The Congressional Black Caucus (Obama is a member) was called by Fannie-Mae as their conscious as they urged Fannie-Mae to issue home loans to underserved people who couldn’t afford them. This problem pre-dates Obama being in congress, but he joined the problem when he accepted the contribution.

ECONOMY and CHANGE (not the coins in your pocket)
In talking about the economy, this is a good place to discuss Obama’s change. Obama is one of the most liberal democrats so when you hear CHANGE, you should be thinking one word Socialism. His views are consistent with this. He wants to tax successful Americans and companies, and then give major tax breaks to middle-class senior citizens and to poorer Americans; tax credits similar to the tax credits for children right now which is money you can receive even if you owe NO taxes. This is called a handout. He also wants to adopt The United Nations Millennium Declaration which has as a goal to eradicate poverty (impossible with corrupt and evil regimes in government) and seeks a fair distribution of the earth’s resources. To this goal, he has sponsored a bill in the US Senate to adopting at least part of this UN document. By doing so, the US would be committing itself to give about $65 billion of additional “aid” each year which is more than $450 per taxpayer. I am all for helping the poor, but the UN is not the way. Also, aid often doesn’t reach the people who need it, it helps the wealthy of the country because of corruption. Money is not the answer, removing corruption is and also enabling the people through micro-loans and education which takes very little investment to make a large difference. While Obama says he would not raise taxes, our taxes will be higher as he plans to allow Bush’s significant tax cuts to expire in 2010. Obama plans to pay for his programs from the additional taxes we would pay. On top of this Obama doesn’t plan to have a balanced budget. His plans are expected to add 3.4 TRILLION dollars to the national debt. Some compare Obama to Robin Hood, the comparison is accurate in that he will be stealing the money of hard working Americans to pay for his plans. Expect to pay more taxes.

ENERGY
Obama wants us to become energy independent by investing in renewable sources. He promises 5 million new jobs in this sector, but who’s paying for them. We will be as he plans for additional taxes in the oil sector. Also, it will be years before we are not dependent on foreign oil. What do we do for the next 15+ years with high gas prices. The cost of gas and the increased cost of goods is hurting both low and middle-income families. Obama said he wasn’t for offshore drilling, then flipped his decision when he learned his position wasn’t popular. But he only supports very limited off-shore drilling, so we will be dependent on foreign oil even longer. We must greatly increase domestic supply and invest in alternative energy which is not Obama’s plan. Expect HIGH gas prices, energy costs, and cost of goods while Obama is president.

SOCIAL SECURITY
Social Security, if you work then you pay your hard earned dollars in to this failed experiment which will run out of money soon. I see about one-third of my taxes go to this and I know I will probably never see most of my money again. McCain is proposing partial privatization of Social Security so that part of your money will be under your control. Obama criticizes this plan and then goes on to encourage savings accounts for the future. While McCain would let us control some of our Social Security money, under Obama the government will still take it all to give some small portion of it back later and also tell us to save money for the future. Obama is right, American’s don’t have much money in savings, but it is because the government takes too much. I would have a nice savings account now if I could put all my Social Security payments in to a personal account.

INTERNATIONAL INEXPERIENCE
Obama has little international experience. He didn’t comment on Jimmy Carter meeting with the Hamas saying it wasn’t his place to say what Jimmy Carter should do. The Hamas is a dedicated terrorist organization and Obama doesn’t have anything to say about them! He doesn’t call their terror evil. Maybe we should not forget that the Hamas officially endorsed Obama as they believe he will be weak on pursuing terrorists. I for once believe Hamas has a good point. If I were a terrorist, I would want a weak US president too. Recently, Georgia was invaded by Russia. Obama was caught off guard with the news while on vacation. He was slow to issue a response condemning the attack, in fact he stated we should just leave the matter to the United Nations, maybe he forgot but with Russia having veto power on the Security Council they can veto and halt any decision the UN makes. If you still don’t think he is inexperienced, then maybe you can trust Joe Biden, who said that Obama is not ready to be President. Or maybe we can trust a former two-term President, Bill Clinton, who stated that Obama lacked experience and that you would never expect a US Senator with only a year’s experience to be running for President.

THE FAMILY
Finally, let’s visit the matter close to our home, family issues. We have an unprecedented number of kids raised in homes with only one parent because of our high divorce rate and kids being born outside of a marriage relationship. We also have decreasing but high teenage pregnancy rates. Obama has stated that fathers need to do a better job of parenting, but Obama doesn’t believe that homes need a mother and a father. This is a surprising view considering his past where his father left him and he struggle to find his identity. Instead, Obama wants to weaken the family by revoking the Defense of Marriage Act. He would change marriage from the foundational unit that keeps our society going and provides us with the next generation to just a commitment between two people who cannot naturally join together in holy matrimony. This is already happened in California where the Marriage License is no longer has Bride and Groom, but now Party A and Party B and where kids are not suppose to refer to the parents as mom and dad. Obama wants to remove all restrictions on Abortion in America. He doesn’t believe in truly helping people with unplanned pregnancy. No he wants to make it easy so that women don’t have to think about their decision. A decision they may later regret like many women do. By removing restrictions, there would be no more parental consent, no more waiting periods, no more medical requirements to ensure women safety, and no more mandatory, truthful information. No matter what you believe about abortion, it should always be to help the women make an informed decision and to reduce the number of abortions to as low as possible. Obama would reverse this and would enable Plan Parenthood to increase their business at the expense of the women of this nation. Also, remember, that Obama through his voting record in Illinois showed that if a babies survives the abortion process and could have a good life, it is okay to stick him in a closet to die. He voted against the Born-alive Infant Protection Act.

I encourage you to examine what Obama would actually do while president and move us away from honoring life, hard work, and protecting our freedoms. He is not our countries savior, no he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I have attempted to show the wolf underneath the hype. I hope you too will see that when you look at the facts of Obama’s qualifications, past actions, beliefs, views, and promises, you too will find that Obama’s change is not what we need. I plan to vote for McCain and Palin, although I don’t agree with them on everything they will be better for America.
